30 Days of Fat Loss–Day #1: Oat Bran Breakfast

Good Monday morning! We are super-excited to bring you SO many great tips, tricks and techniques to help you increase your fat loss potential over the next 30 days! Each day we will be posting a great idea that hopefully you will be able to implement into your daily routine to boost your metabolism, improve your health and lose a few l-bs!

Every Monday we will be featuring a great fat-loss breakfast idea, since it is the most important meal of the day to get the metabolism moving and set off on the right fat-burning foot. This Monday we are featuring one of our favorite meals, oat bran!

Oat bran is superior to oatmeal for fat loss because it contains a higher absolute fiber content with less total carbs, relative to old-fashioned oatmeal, with the same amount of protein (see label below). To make, purchase any oat bran (our favorite is Bob’s Red Mill Organic) and measure out 1/3 cup dry, place in a microwaveable bowl. Add 1 cup water and cook on high for 2 minutes. Give it a quick mix and then put it back in for another 1 min.

Our favorite fat loss trick is to add 1 scoop of whey protein to up the protein ante and add some flavor. Our favorite is BSN Lean Dessert in Cinnamon Roll (YUM!) or Jay Robb Vanilla (if you want to keep it all-natural). Add the protein powder after it is completely cooked or else it will congeal. You can purchase whey protein at any Vitamine Shoppe store or online at North Carolina’s own, for some of the most affordable pricing on the web.
