Deb LeFevre is a client who admittedly came to us with little expectation since she had followed diets dished out by some of the top fitness professionals and figure competitors out there. I don’t even know how to put into words what Jillian Sarno Teta has done for me. Not only has she provided the best nutrition plan for me that got RESULTS, but she and Jill have provided the guidance, support and most of all, encouragement to go further.
I’ve had a passion for fitness since the age of 16 when I first read my brothers Muscle & Fitness magazine. I’ve been a personal trainer for over 20 years and thought I should know how to lose weight. In my 20’s, it was never difficult. But when I turned 30, it all came crashing down when I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Each year, the weight kept coming on, even though I was working out hard and eating right (so I thought). Each year became an emotional rollercoaster for me because the weight kept coming on.
My endocrinologist didn’t help, so I hired a professional figure competitor coach. Sure, they helped but I couldn’t maintain a lifestyle on a competitor’s diet and 2 hours of cardio a day to keep my weight down. I then sought the advice of a naturopathic doctor. I left his office with hundreds of informational sheets and him telling me I needed to purchase about 20 different supplements to “fix” my problems. I grew more and more frustrated and depressed. Here I was, working as a Personal Trainer and Manager, and I couldn’t get any help or figure out how to lose the weight. I started to feel like the “fat” trainer at the club and why would anyone hire me. I got so depressed over it, that I decided to quit my job and leave the fitness industry all together. It was so hard because I have been in love with fitness for so long but the emotional toll it took on me was too much.
Several months after leaving my job, I became pregnant. It was the greatest time of my life and I loved being pregnant and giving birth to my handsome son. About six months after giving birth, I slowly started back at the gym. I took almost a whole year off and it felt good mentally to just stay away. I realized I needed to lose the weight so I purchased the ME book. I loved what I was reading but knew I needed the accountability. This is when I spoke with Jill Coleman from JillFit Physiques and she assigned Jillian Teta to work with me. Honestly, I thought it wouldn’t be any different than what I did in the past. And boy was I WRONG!! Not only did I lose weight and fat, but I feel better than ever!
The nutrition plan from Jillian is incredible and her approach is so different than what I’ve experienced in the past. And I only spend about 40 minutes in the gym! I can’t wait to start working as a personal trainer again too and share what I’ve learned with others. I can honestly say that in the past ten years, it is the best approach to nutrition and a fat loss lifestyle that I have ever experienced!
