Full Body Strength & Cardio Circuit

By Tara Ballard

Hi Gang! I am traveling for work this week, and in an effort to shake things up a bit, I am staying OUT of the gym, and doing all of my workouts either outdoors, in my hotel room, or in the hotel’s small fitness center. I’m putting my normal strength training split on hold, and am doing mostly full-body Metabolic Effect-style workouts. I love these types of workouts because they are short (20 to 30 minutes), intense and keep the fat-burning engines burning long after the workout is over. They are also great boredom-busters!

I did the following workout in the hotel fitness center, which has a treadmill, bike, elliptical machine, bench and dumbbells up to 30lbs. I brought my own jump rope. You’ll do each exercise RBT style – pushing until you can’t, resting until you can. The workout consists of two 10-minute circuits (done in a descending pyramid based on time), followed by a 2-minute final burnout. Including warm-up and cool-down, the workout should take approximately 30 minutes. Good luck and let me know how it goes for you!

Be sure to warm-up and cool-down appropriately.

Equipment needed: treadmill, jump rope, dumbbells, bench.
