At JillFit, we love sharing tips and tricks about how to make fat loss taste good! We discovered a couple of items that can really help bring the flavor up in our fat loss foods, but are still healthy and do not impact the ability to burn fat. Alternative sweeteners like erythritol, xylitol and Stevia are great natural options to add sweetness to coffee, unsweetened hot cocoa, tea, shakes, oat bran and baked goods in place of sugar. We found Liquid Stevia drops from Sweetleaf that come in several different flavors, like chocolate, raspberry, vanilla creme, toffee, cinnamon, grape and lemon (see below). Here is a great suggestion to add additional sweetness to your post-workout shake with no added cals or sugar:
Use a Magic Bullet, Vitamix or traditional blender, and blend:
10 oz unsweetened almond milk
1-2 scoops chocolate protein powder
1/4 cup oatbran
Ice to desired thickness
10-20 Liquid Stevia drops in Chocolate
Another great way to add calorie-free flavor to recipes, shakes, baked goods, coffee, etc is using Capella Flavor Drops–with over 50 different flavors (some sweetened with Stevia, some just natural flavoring) like Chocolate Glazed Donut, French Toast, Apple Pie, Peanut Butter, Pina Colada and Banana Split, how can you resist? :) The possibilities are endless, check them out! There are numerous ways to incorporate these drops into your clean eating regimen. A great resource that uses many different Capella flavors in their recipes is The EZ Whey Cookbook, an e-book created by fitness professional Emily Zaler–a great way to eat for fat loss and not miss out on your favorite flavors!
